According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian high school students are increasingly deciding to leave the country before finishing school - this applies to both boys and girls. Education experts point out that the reasons for this decision are concerns for their own safety as well as widespread rumors about a possible reduction in the conscription age.

'We must make it clear to those who have left that there will be true self-realization here.'

There are currently no official data on the scale of this phenomenon from the Ministry of Education, but the decrease in the number of 11th-grade students attending in-person classes is already becoming noticeable. The President of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Serhiy Kvit, urges not to focus on what cannot be controlled, but instead to create motivation for the youth to return.

Recommendations for youth

Kvit recommends not to rush into studying abroad immediately after school. In his opinion, it is better to complete a bachelor's degree in Ukraine in order to maintain a connection with the homeland. And although Ukrainian universities may lag behind Western ones in many respects, it is important to have strong specialists who, according to Kvit, should become the foundation for faith in positive change.

With the spread of rumors about a possible reduction in the conscription age and the rise in fears for their own safety, Ukrainian high school students are increasingly deciding to leave the country before finishing school. Despite this, experts urge not to focus on what is difficult to control, but instead to create motivation for young people to return and contribute to positive changes in Ukraine.
