Hero Bohdan Verkhomiy died in May: what is known about the defender

Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Bohdan Verkhomiy.

Defender of Ukraine Bohdan Verkhomiy died on May 27, 2025. This was reported by

Bohdan Verkhomiy was born on November 19, 1995, in Lviv. He studied at the Peremyshlyany educational institution of general secondary education I-III degrees No. 1 of the Peremyshlyany City Council of the Lviv region and at the “Halytskyi” Lyceum of the Lviv City Council.

After his studies, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine.

According to his relatives, Bohdan was kind, brave, hardworking, and sociable. He had many friends, was passionate about cars and their repairs, and loved fishing.

He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).

Since 2023, he stood up to defend the Motherland from the invasion of Russian occupiers. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the Donetsk direction as part of the Special Purpose Police Battalion "Korpus Operatyvno-Raptovoyi Diyi" (rifleman) of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.

The warrior was buried on September 5 at the Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honorary burials of modern Heroes.

Bohdan Verkhomiy is survived by his parents, sisters, goddaughter, grandmother, grandfather, godparents, and a large family.
