The application deadline for the winter payment of 1000 UAH is approaching

The application deadline for receiving the winter payment in the amount of 1,000 UAH is approaching. Under the "Winter Support" program, implemented by the government at the initiative of the president, 13.7 million Ukrainians have already received assistance, including over 658,000 in just the last week. This is reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

As of now, all applications submitted by December 17 are financed. Payments through Ukrposhta are also ongoing - funds are being provided for applications submitted between November 15 and 30.

How and until when to apply for the 1000 UAH payment

The application period for participation in the program ends on December 24, 2025. Applications can be submitted in two ways:

• online via the Diia application;

• in writing at Ukrposhta branches, of which there are over 26 thousand across the country.

In total, 17.7 million Ukrainians have applied. Nearly 2 million people have received funds automatically as pensioners and social payment recipients through Ukrposhta.

How can the funds be used

The received funds are allowed to be spent on basic needs. Most often, Ukrainians allocate them for utility services, medicines, and food products. Funds can also be used for:

• payment for postal services;

• purchase of books;

• products of Ukrainian production;

• charitable donations.

The total amount spent through the "National Cashback" card has already exceeded 7 billion UAH. Funds can be used through this card until June 30, 2026, and for recipients through Ukrposhta - until the end of February 2026.

Separately, it is reported that over 414 thousand Ukrainians have already applied for additional assistance in the amount of 6,500 UAH.

It should be noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution regulating the assignment of housing subsidies for citizens receiving financial assistance under the "Winter Support" program. According to the new rules, the amount of one-time financial assistance of 1,000 UAH is not taken into account when calculating the total family income.
