Only three quarters for their own – The Kremlin has set the subsistence level in the so-called LNR

In mid-December, the occupying 'authorities' in Luhansk announced that they were preparing Severodonetsk for the autumn-winter period.

The Kremlin has set the subsistence level in the so-called LNR at 22% lower than that adopted by the Russian authorities, said the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergey Gaidai, on December 19.

'Equal, our own, but only three quarters. According to the resolution of the government of the Russian Federation, next year in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk, the regional subsistence minimum coefficient is set at 0.78 of the federal one. That is, residents of the so-called LNR will be at least a quarter poorer than the poorest Russian citizen for the next year,' the message states.

More important for the occupying authorities than the standard of living of the population is the forced passportization. In particular, to replace registration documents and vehicle license plates, residents of the pseudo-republic must present a Russian passport or a residence permit in Russia. This registration is carried out free of charge for a year and even without mandatory insurance.

'As long as it’s fast: the replacement of driver's licenses for a Russian-style document is done without passing driving tests and in the absence of driver medical examinations. Bought a license earlier - no one checks it. As long as you have a Russian passport. Medical examinations and tests in the occupied territories are not needed, only a Russian passport,' Gaidai added.

Meanwhile, the 'government' in the so-called LNR is once again 'preparing' Severodonetsk and the surrounding cities for the arrival of the cold.

'It’s the second half of December, and the occupiers are announcing the start of the restoration of an 'enormous number' of facilities so that people can enter the autumn-winter period without problems. Autumn has passed, winter is in full swing – they just started preparing for autumn,' noted the head of the LOVA.

In Luhansk, the occupiers continue to cut mining equipment for miners in Dolzhansk. Those miners who have not yet been conscripted are looking for job opportunities. In particular, at the 'Red Partisan' mine near the city, equipment is being dismantled and taken away daily. The enterprise is being prepared for conservation.
