Pensioners may have their payments recalculated: who will receive thousands of hryvnias
The problem of underpayment of pension benefits to Ukrainian pensioners
According to hvylya.net: Thousands of Ukrainian pensioners, who have worked hard all their lives in seasonal jobs, in agriculture, or in creative professions, today receive a significant portion of their legal pension due to unfair calculation mechanisms and bureaucratic obstacles. This is mentioned in the latest issue of the publication 'On Pension'.
Journalist Iryna Polyakova, citing pension expert Viktor Bohdanov, emphasizes the injustice of the situation regarding pensioners who worked in difficult conditions and today have insufficient payments.
The essence of the problem
- Agricultural workers, collective farm workers.
- Workers in seasonal and rotational jobs.
- Creative workers (architects, artists, writers).
- Individuals who worked under civil law contracts.
Until 2011, pension legislation applied limits on the salary coefficient, which led to the reduction of pensions for these categories of citizens.
Example of underpayment
A case is considered of collective farm worker Ivan Fedorovych, who lost almost 150 thousand hryvnias over five years due to the limitations of the salary coefficient.
Solution to the problem
'We just need to amend the legislation to annul the limits for this category of pensioners,' believes Viktor Bohdanov.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government is making changes to pension legislation to increase all pension payments and balance the budget of the Pension Fund, thousands of pensioners continue to receive low pensions that do not match their merits.
Thousands of Ukrainian pensioners may suffer from undeserved underpayments of pension benefits due to limitations on the salary coefficient, which lead to a decrease in the size of pensions for certain categories of citizens. There are calls for the Ukrainian government to amend the legislation to address this issue and ensure fair pensions for all.
