US President Donald Trump told reporters that Ukraine has expressed a desire to launch an offensive on the front, and this question depends on the American administration. He emphasized this ahead of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 15, 2025.
'They want to go on the offensive. I will make a decision on this, but they would like to start the offensive, and we will have to sort this out,' Trump noted.
Additionally, Trump noted that Russia has suffered significant losses in the war with Ukraine, losing one and a half million people, most of whom were military personnel. He called on President Putin to stop the killing of Ukrainians and Russians. Trump also emphasized the importance of energy security and noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised not to buy Russian oil, and he hopes for a similar decision from China.
