Trump offered Putin Ukraine 'on a platter' in exchange for peace, - Austrian Foreign Minister
According to hvylya.net: U.S. President Donald Trump offered Russian President Vladimir Putin Ukraine - Crimea and the eastern regions - 'on a platter', but Putin still rejected this offer and chose to continue the war in Donbass.
Austrian Foreign Minister Beata Meinl-Reisinger noted that Ukraine is seeking peace, but Russia is not. She expressed the opinion that Putin does not want to end the conflict, as it would hinder the start of real negotiations.
'One thing is clear: Ukraine wants peace, Russia does not. If Putin were truly interested in peace, he would have already initiated negotiations for a ceasefire. U.S. President Trump handed Crimea and some eastern regions to Putin on a silver platter, so to speak, and also excluded Ukraine's NATO membership. But what is Putin doing? He continues the war of destruction against Ukraine,' - emphasized Meinl-Reisinger.
The Austrian Foreign Minister rejected the idea that Russia has an advantage on the front. She noted that the Kremlin is suffering tremendous losses in Ukraine, and Putin will not be able to ignore this forever.
Meinl-Reisinger also emphasized that it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Russian leader to keep the situation under control due to losses and the economic crisis. Putin understands that time is not on his side, which is why he does not stop waging war with such brutality.
Ukraine is against the war, Russia continues the conflict - this state of affairs was noted by the Austrian Foreign Minister, highlighting the confrontation between the two countries regarding the resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Putin has long been known for his aggressive actions, as evidenced by his deeds in the context of the war in Donbass.
