According to ДСНС: On January 4, 2023, the third anniversary of the death of Colonel of the State Emergency Service Sergey Hotsuliak is marked. He was the head of the pyrotechnic works group of the emergency rescue team of special purpose in Ternopil region. Sergey Hotsuliak participated in demining the de-occupied territories of Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, under his leadership thousands of square meters of territory were examined and over 70 thousand explosive objects were destroyed.

The tragic incident occurred during the cleaning of the area near the gas installation when an enemy shell exploded. As a result of the explosion, Sergey Hotsuliak sustained injuries incompatible with life and died on the spot. His contribution to ensuring safety in the liberated territories will remain in the memory of many.
