Turkish Volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: This is not a foreign war, I will fight until the end
According to glavcom.ua: Kurt is a citizen of Turkey by passport, but a Ukrainian at heart. Before the full-scale invasion, he worked as a web designer and dealt with cars. From the first days of the war, he stood alongside our soldiers: helping people, distributing bread and water in besieged Chernihiv, and later joined the army. As reported by "Glavkom", the 420th separate battalion of drone systems spoke about their fighter.
In the military, Kurt was initially a medic, then mastered explosive engineering - he learned to make and attach ammunition to drones. Today he works with FPV systems and simply says:
«This is not a foreign war. If you live in this country, you need to fight for it, not run away. I am a foreigner, but I am here because I see injustice. I will fight until the end».
For him, this struggle is for Ukraine, for his comrades, for his family, and for his daughter's future. Despite the pain of losses and daily difficulties, he is confident in our victory:
«I am fighting for my second homeland. Ukraine will win - I believe in this, just as I believe in my own name».
Kurt also addressed Ukrainians who still have not joined the military.
«I want to address every citizen of Ukraine. This is your land, your flag. You also must fight. Sitting at home, running away, you will get nowhere. You need to fight just like I do», said the fighter.
Other foreigners fighting in the Ukrainian army
Earlier, Brazilian Guilherme Ribeiro, who has been fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for several years, told "Glavkom" in an interview whether he knew anything about Ukraine before arriving here for the war and why he decided to fight on the side of Ukraine. He admits he was impressed by the courage of Ukrainians during the Revolution of Dignity.
An Italian also learned Ukrainian and is fighting in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. «Now this is my war too» - says 29-year-old Italian Yuri Previtali. In 2023, he left his home and, with no military experience, came to fight for Ukraine. The volunteer underwent training, joined the "Carpathian Sich" legion, and now defends Ukraine from the Russian Federation alongside our fighters.
Ukraine is fighting for its independence and territorial integrity. Foreign volunteers who choose to devote their strength and efforts to the fight on the side of the Ukrainian army demonstrate determination and resolve in supporting the country in its difficult time.
