Incident in Kharkiv
According to Главком: An incident occurred in Kharkiv when a 42-year-old driver shot at a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) and fled the scene. The incident took place on December 31 around nine in the morning on Kharkiv Divisions Street in the Nemishlyany district of the city. According to preliminary information, the TRC representative was not injured; however, his uniform was damaged as a result of the shot.
The police responded promptly to the event and soon detained the suspect. A pre-trial investigation is underway, initiated under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.
Other cases of violence
This incident occurs against the backdrop of other cases of violence against TRC servicemen, notably:
- in Dnipro, a man recently injured two TRC servicemen with a knife;
- in Odesa, a conflict occurred between three TRC employees and a police district officer.
