In Kharkiv, the water tariff will change in October: how much residents will pay

In October, the cost of cold water and sewage will increase in Kharkiv, while prices for gas, electricity, heating, and hot water for the population will remain unchanged. The recalculation of subsidies for the heating season will also begin. More about how utility tariffs will change, tells Novyny.LIVE. 

Water tariffs in Kharkiv from October 1, 2026

Starting from the beginning of the month, the decision of the city council executive committee regarding the new tariffs for cold water and sewage will come into force. For consumers who are not related to enterprises in the field of centralized water supply, the prices excluding VAT will be:

• cold water — 40.524 UAH per cubic meter;
• sewage — 17.175 UAH per cubic meter.

Including VAT, the water will cost about 48.63 UAH per cubic meter, and sewage — 20.61 UAH. Together — approximately 69.24 UAH per cubic meter. This is 2.8 times more than the current tariff.

The city council explained the review by the rising costs of electricity, reagents, materials, repairs, and salaries. The increase is planned to be implemented in two stages. From January 1, 2027, the following tariffs will come into effect: 57.504 UAH per cubic meter of water and 27.992 UAH for sewage, excluding VAT.

Gas, electricity, and heating in Kharkiv: prices for October

For household consumers, the prices for hot water and heating will not change. For a cubic meter of hot water, Kharkiv residents will continue to pay 93.22 UAH if a towel dryer is connected to the hot water supply system, or 86.32 UAH without it. The heating tariffs for the population remain at the level that was in effect on February 24, 2022. The start date of the heating season will be determined based on the weather and the city authorities' decision.

The electricity price for most households will be 4.32 UAH per kW·h. For defined government households with electric heating, as well as houses without gas and heating, from October 1 to April 30, a tariff of 2.64 UAH will apply for the first 2000 kW·h per month. For consumption exceeding this volume, the standard price will apply.

For Naftogaz customers, the cubic meter of gas will continue to cost 7.96 UAH. The tariff plan “Fixed” is valid until April 30, 2027. Previous data on the cost of utilities can be reviewed in a separate material.
