A consular reception for Ukrainians will be held in Katowice on September 16: what services are available
Ukrainians in Katowice and the Silesian Voivodeship will not have to travel to Krakow for a number of consular services. On September 16, the Consulate General will hold a reception where it will be possible to submit documents for a foreign passport and obtain citizenship for a child by birth. A similar mobile reception in Bialystok is scheduled for September 17-18. This was reported by InPoland.
What consular services will Ukrainians receive in Katowice on September 16
The reception is organized by the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow with the assistance of the Katowice Circle of the «Association of Ukrainians in Poland». It will take place on September 16 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the premises of the international society «Konwalia» at the address: ul. Mikołowska 13, Katowice.
During the mobile service, it will be possible to submit documents for a foreign passport for children under 12 years old and to obtain Ukrainian citizenship by birth.
Also, within the expanded list of consular actions, documents will be accepted for foreign passports for children aged 12 and older as well as for adult citizens.
Pre-registration is mandatory. Before the visit, it is necessary to fill out a questionnaire and prepare the applications for the required consular actions in advance.
This is important against the backdrop of changes in the work of passport services. In particular, since August 17, the procedure for obtaining passports has changed in Krakow and Gdansk: when submitting an application at the State Enterprise «Document», prior online registration is required.
What documents need to be brought to the mobile reception
To obtain a passport, the applicant must bring a complete set of documents. A color photograph measuring 10×15 cm on a white background, where the face occupies approximately 70% of the image, is also required.
To obtain citizenship for a child by birth, the original birth certificate and its official translation by a certified translator, as well as a color photo of the child measuring 3.5×4.5 cm, must be provided.
The service is available for children born in the Silesian, Lesser Poland, or Świętokrzyskie Voivodeships.
At the same time, for children born after January 16, 2026, who have both parents being citizens of Ukraine at the time of birth, there is no need to separately obtain citizenship by birth. It is considered automatically acquired, and a passport can be issued without the corresponding certificate.
There is a separate requirement for men aged 18 to 60. They must present an electronic military registration document from «Reserv+» generated no earlier than 72 hours before the reception. This must be shown both in the application and in printed form.
To pay for the services, a bank card is required. Ready passports and certificates will be issued later at the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow.
Let us remind you that from May 18, 2026, the tariffs for consular services for Ukrainians in Poland were updated, including for the issuance of passports and procedures related to citizenship.
