The average salary of employees in Kyiv reached 48,393 UAH in June 2026, which is 2.7% higher than in May. At the same time, in the highest-paying sector, the average salary approached 89,000 UAH, reports 'Judicial and Legal Newspaper'.

Where in Kyiv do they pay the highest salaries

The leader in terms of salary level remains the information and telecommunications sector. In June, its employees in Kyiv earned an average of 88,878 UAH, while the overall figure for Ukraine was 77,931 UAH.

High salaries are also recorded in public administration and defense, including mandatory social insurance, where the average in the capital was 71,158 UAH.

In the financial and insurance sector, the average salary reached 69,403 UAH, while in professional, scientific, and technical activities, it was 52,627 UAH.

Among other sectors in Kyiv:

  • electricity and gas supply – 57,755 UAH;

  • agriculture, forestry, and fishing – 53,294 UAH;

  • trade and repair of vehicles – 46,461 UAH;

  • extraction industry – 43,400 UAH;

  • manufacturing industry – 33,905 UAH;

  • transport, post, and warehousing – 34,352 UAH.

In which sectors of the capital do they earn the least

The salary in construction, education, healthcare, food sector, and some service types remains significantly lower.

In health care and social assistance institutions, the average salary was 31,843 UAH, while in education it was 32,060 UAH. For comparison, the average figures in Ukraine for these sectors were 22,274 UAH and 25,394 UAH, respectively.

In the temporary accommodation and food organization sector, they paid an average of 26,416 UAH in Kyiv, while in construction it was 25,077 UAH. Thus, the difference between certain industries in the capital exceeds three times.

Overall, the average salary for an employee in Ukraine in June was 32,783 UAH, which is about 15,600 UAH less than in Kyiv.

According to statistical data, in June there were more than 1.11 million employees in the capital. On average, one employee worked 148 hours a month. The statistics cover legal entities and their subdivisions with ten or more hired employees.

It should be noted that in Ukraine the minimum wage is twice lower than in Moldova.
