As a result of this attack, Yuriy Bondarenko, 37 years old, died in the hospital from aortic damage. The attacker, 30-year-old Hryhoriy Kedruk, has been detained and has been placed under arrest for 60 days without the right to bail.

Charges and Consequences

Hryhoriy Kedruk has been charged with two criminal articles:

  • Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional severe bodily harm committed in a manner that has the character of special torture, and with the purpose of intimidating the victim or for reasons of racial, national, or religious intolerance, which caused the victim's death;

According to Serhiy Yanchyshyn, the suspect faces up to 12 years of imprisonment. It is worth noting that the farewell ceremony for Yuriy Bondarenko took place on December 5, 2025.

'What happened is very bad. Would I have done it differently if four people were killing me? Probably not.' - Hryhoriy Kedruk

This incident highlights the growing tension in society, considering it occurred while military personnel were performing official duties. The murder of Yuriy Bondarenko has caused a wide resonance in Ukraine, raising questions about the safety of TCC workers and other services carrying out their duties amid possible threats.
