In Germany, the scenario of direct confrontation with Russia has been voiced
German troops are ready to kill Russian soldiers - German Defense Minister
According to hvylya.net: The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized that in the event of a Russian attack on a NATO member country, German troops will be ready to kill Russian soldiers. He stated this in an interview with the Financial Times, emphasizing that Germany will not refrain from decisive actions in the face of a direct threat, even considering the historical events of World War II.
'If deterrence fails and Russia attacks - is this possible? Yes,' Pistorius stressed.
The minister also urged journalists to contact the German military stationed in Lithuania to get reliable information from objective sources.
Germany is ready for dialogue on equal terms
Pistorius emphasized that dialogue about peace and de-escalation can only be conducted on equal terms. He noted that Germany does not seek to provoke escalation or threats but must be capable of defending itself and strengthening its intentions: 'We want to live in peace with you, but do not think that we are weak or that we will not defend ourselves.'
Earlier, the minister reported on the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense through direct purchases of American Patriot systems.
During the interview, the German Defense Minister emphasized the country's readiness to defend its interests and act decisively in the event of a direct threat from Russia, but expressed a desire to engage in dialogue and facilitate a peaceful resolution of the conflict on equal terms.
