Germany is Aging Fast: Every Fourth Person 67+ by 2035
Застаріння населення Німеччини: до 2035 року кожен четвертий мешканець стане пенсіонером.

According to glavcom.ua: In Germany, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) predicts that by 2035, every fourth person will be aged 67 or older. According to various estimates, by 2070, the country's population will range from 63.9 to 86.5 million people, which is less than previously anticipated.

Currently, for every 100 working-age individuals, there are 33 persons of retirement age. In the best-case scenario, this number will rise to 43 by 2070, and in the worst-case scenario, it may even reach 61. The working-age population in Germany is expected to decline in the mid-2030s, and the ratio between working and pensioners cannot be maintained at the projected level of migration, explained the department head, Carsten Lümmer.

By 2035, every fourth person will be over the age of 67. In comparison, in 2024, only every fifth person belonged to this age category. As events unfold by 2038, an even greater number of individuals in this age group is expected - already from 25 to 27%.

The state demographic strategy of Ukraine until 2040 aims to curb emigration and attract Ukrainians from abroad, as well as to bring in immigrants for vacant jobs, as the country faces a significant labor shortage in the future.
