A second Russian drone found in Turkey: what is known about the Merlin-VR

Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and conducted a preliminary inspection of the drone.

«The drone fell in a wasteland near Salur, in the Manisa district of Balıkesir province. It was found by farmers working in the area. It has been handed over to the authorities,» the message states.

«The unmanned aerial vehicle, whose Russian origin has not yet been confirmed, was sent to Ankara for a detailed technical examination,» the channel notes.

According to Russian propagandists, the drone found in Turkey is a Russian reconnaissance UAV 'Merlin-VR', developed by the Smolensk Research Institute of Modern Telecommunications Technologies. Yesterday, on December 19, locals in the Turkish province of Kocaeli, near the city of Izmit, discovered a crashed drone of Russian manufacture.
