According to Мінфін: Ukraine has received €3.9 billion from the European Union as the first installment for defense purposes under the Ukraine Support Loan initiative. This program outlines total funding for Ukraine of up to €90 billion during 2026–2027. Specifically, in 2026, Ukraine will have access to up to €45 billion, with €28.3 billion designated for the defense component.
So far, Ukraine has already obtained €7 billion through the Ukraine Support Loan program. The initial budget support tranche of €3.2 billion arrived on June 25. Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko noted that these funds will go toward critical needs, including boosting domestic drone production, strengthening the defense industry, and meeting the requirements of the Armed Forces. He emphasized that EU assistance is becoming not only substantial but also more predictable.
