August pension payouts in Ukraine backed by UAH 23.9 billion in state funds

Benefit financing update: August 6

According to Пенсії (RSS): Figures released as of August 6 show how Ukraine is funding various benefit payments. This includes pensions, housing subsidies and discounts, insurance payouts, social assistance, and other support. In August, the Pension Fund of Ukraine processed 241,400 services for applicants.

Where the money went

Pension expenses came to UAH 23.9 billion, split as follows:

• UAH 4.3 billion distributed via Ukrposhta JSC;
• UAH 19.6 billion through authorized banks.

UAH 1.5 billion was set aside for housing subsidies and benefits, UAH 1.7 billion for insurance payments (with UAH 0.3 billion covering sick leave), and UAH 6.6 billion for social assistance and other payments.

The numbers reflect active state efforts to keep social protections running under challenging economic conditions. Reliable pension and benefit funding helps stabilize daily life for citizens. If this approach continues, it could ease social pressures and safeguard the most vulnerable groups across the country.
