Agricultural product imports to Ukraine increased by 10%: what is being purchased the most
In January-June 2025, agricultural product imports to Ukraine increased by 10% compared to the previous year. During this period, goods worth 4.262 billion dollars were imported, which is 398 million dollars more than last year.
The largest growth was observed in vegetable imports - by 64% to 355 million dollars. The main purchases were tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, and sweet peppers. One of the reasons for this, experts say, is the reduction of local production.
Purchases of cocoa products (+29%), coffee and tea (+25%), as well as the import of fruits and berries (+14%) also significantly increased. There is a significant increase in the volumes of food product purchases, but at the same time, the import of seeds and oilseed products has decreased. In the first half of 2025, Ukraine actively increases the volumes of agricultural product imports, particularly vegetables, cocoa, coffee, tea, and other products, which may indicate certain trends in the consumer market.
