Ukraine and Azerbaijan plan joint energy projects

According to hvylya.net: It is not often that you hear about important meetings taking place between representatives of different countries on energy cooperation. However, such an exciting turn has occurred – the Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko and Deputy Minister Mykola Kolesnyk met with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov to discuss cooperation in the energy sector.

'The Ukrainian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission is an important tool for enhancing practical cooperation in energy. Azerbaijan is a key supplier of energy resources to Europe, and we have significant potential to expand cooperation in the fields of extraction, storage, and transportation of natural gas,' emphasized Herman Haluschenko.

They discussed in detail the potential for joint energy projects, renewable energy, and the modernization of energy infrastructure. The possibilities of using Ukrainian gas storage facilities for storing Azerbaijani gas as part of the 'Gas Locker of Europe' initiative and improving the transit potential of both countries were also considered.

Outcome of the meeting

The meeting of Haluschenko and Kolesnyk with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan gave a new impetus to strategic partnership in the energy sector, which in the future may lead to strengthening the energy security and independence of both countries. This cooperation is of great importance for Ukraine, which is actively developing energy partnerships and striving to achieve energy independence.
