Ukraine and the EU extended transport visa-free regime: until the end of the agreement
Ukraine and the European Union have agreed to extend the 'transport visa-free regime'. This was reported by the press service of the ministry, as reported by 'Khvilya'.
Agreement on the liberalization of cargo transportation
The Ministry of Development of Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed to maintain the agreement for 15 months. Thus, the 'transport visa-free regime' will be in effect at least until March 2027. This means that Ukrainian and European carriers can carry out bilateral and transit transportation without special permits.
During the term of the agreement, the share of trade between Ukraine and the EU by road transport has increased by almost 55%, which has positively impacted the economies of both countries, emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.
The extension of the agreement does not introduce new execution rules. Carriers must adhere to the norms of liberalization of transport, such as truck labeling and the presence of licenses and documents for the cargo. It is also stated that after July 1, 2026, all new cargo vehicles registered in Ukraine must be equipped with digital smart tachographs.
As a reminder, earlier Ukrainians were explained the new rules for entering and staying in the countries of the European Union.
The agreement on the extension of the 'transport visa-free regime' between Ukraine and the European Union is an important step for the convenience and simplification of cargo transportation between the parties, contributing to the development of trade and economic ties.
