Ukraine and Philippines Hold Strategic Dialogue

According to МЗС: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha met with Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teresa Lazaro to discuss critical issues surrounding the Black Sea, including threats to global food security, bilateral cooperation, and ongoing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

Minister Sybiha highlighted how Russian aggression has disrupted maritime routes in the Black Sea, severely undermining freedom of navigation. He emphasized that these disruptions pose significant risks to food supplies well beyond the immediate region.

“We rely on the Philippines’ firm stance and the international community’s decisive action to restore freedom of navigation in the Black Sea,” Minister Sybiha stressed.

The conversation also covered opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties and collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Sybiha expressed gratitude for the Philippines’ continued backing of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and extended a formal invitation to Secretary Lazaro to visit Ukraine.
