Ukraine and Sweden create joint arms production: details of the agreement
Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal and his Swedish counterpart Paul Jonsson signed a Letter of Intent regarding joint production of defense products in both countries. According to the defense ministry, this document updates mutual efforts and creates conditions for the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry.
The letter also mentions the intention to continue exchanging technologies and experiences in the production of weapons and military equipment to strengthen the resilience and self-sufficiency of the defense industry of Ukraine and Sweden. The prospects of cooperation in military aviation and space technologies were also discussed.
Denys Shmyhal thanked Sweden for 'steadfast support of Ukraine in all areas during the repulsion of Russian aggression.'
The Ukrainian side informed the Swedish delegation about the current situation on the battlefield and the key needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine during the negotiations.
'I thanked the Swedish government, in particular, for the transfer of reconnaissance and management aircraft ASC 890,' noted the Ukrainian Defense Minister. Among the nearest prospects for cooperation are work on military innovations aimed at accelerating their practical implementation and the development of joint productions.
During the meeting of the defense ministers of Ukraine and Sweden, a document on cooperation in the production of defense products was signed, which will promote strengthening relations between the two countries in the field of defense industry and experience exchange in this area.
