В Україні введено нові правила, за якими споживачам надається п’ять днів для передачі показників лічильників.

Updated Guidelines for Electricity Meter Data Submission

According to ХВИЛЯ: Consumers in Ukraine now have a five-day window to report their electricity meter readings. Specifically, readings must be submitted during the final two days of the current month and the first three days of the following month. For example, in May, the submission period runs from May 30–31 and June 1–3. It is important to note that the billing system records the data as of the first day of the month.

Electricity Tariffs

As of June 1, 2023, the electricity tariff for household consumers is set at 4.32 UAH per kWh. Owners of two-zone meters can benefit from a reduced rate: between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, they pay only 2.16 UAH per kWh.

Meter readings can be submitted through multiple channels, including:

  • a personal online account
  • a chatbot
  • SMS
  • email

There are two types of meters in use:

  • single-zone meters, which record one total figure
  • two-zone meters, which provide separate day and night readings

The changes to the meter reading schedule are designed to improve the accuracy of consumption tracking and streamline operations for energy companies. The new tariffs, especially the discounted nighttime rate for two-zone meter owners, offer households a chance to lower their electricity bills-a significant benefit amid rising energy costs. These adjustments may also encourage consumers to rethink how and when they use electricity.

As households adjust to the new meter reading schedule, it's also important to stay informed about the broader energy landscape. The recent decision by the Ukrainian government to extend the freeze on electricity prices until 2026 offers additional relief for consumers. This measure not only stabilizes costs but also aligns with the government's efforts to manage energy affordability during challenging economic times.
