Ukrainians can now travel for free from Revyaka station to Chisinau airport

Train passengers from Ukraine now have the opportunity to travel for free from Revyaka railway station to Chisinau International Airport named after Eugen Doga. The airport launched a transfer service in test mode for one month. This is reported by the airport's press service.

The new route is primarily aimed at passengers arriving in Moldova by train from Ukraine and then continuing their journey by plane. Previously, they had to travel to the airport through Chisinau, spending money on taxis or public transport and accounting for possible traffic jams.

How the transfer from Revyaka station to Chisinau airport works in August 2026

The train from Chisinau railway station to Revyaka station takes about 7–10 minutes. It arrives at the station daily at 10:20. Passengers can disembark at Revyaka, where an airport bus will pick them up.

The journey from the station to the passenger terminal takes about five minutes. There is no charge for the bus. Thus, the trip from Chisinau central station to the airport can take about 15 minutes, not counting waiting time and transfers.

To use the new service, passengers need to:

• check the schedule of their train in advance;
• disembark at Revyaka station;
• after arrival, transfer to the airport bus;
• allow sufficient time for check-in and security before departure.

Chisinau airport has not yet reported the need for prior registration for the transfer. It is advisable to check the current conditions and schedule on the official website of the institution before traveling.

How long the free bus will operate in Chisinau in 2026

The free transfer was launched as a one-month pilot project. During the test period, the administration will monitor the number of passengers and determine whether the route actually shortens travel time and eases the transfer from train to plane.

After the testing is complete, the airport will decide whether to keep the bus permanently. The exact date for the end of the pilot period has not been specified in the announcement.

According to Moldovan media, about 30% of passengers at Chisinau airport are Ukrainian citizens. Against the backdrop of increasing passenger traffic, 11 canopies with seating have also been installed in front of the terminal, and access to free drinking water has been expanded.

It is worth noting that Ukraine and Moldova reached an agreement on a 50% discount on the transit of Ukrainian goods by rail.
