Strikes on Russian military facilities
According to ХВИЛЯ: On December 25, 2023, Ukrainian defense forces struck military and infrastructure facilities within the territory of the Russian Federation. Among the targets were:
- Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant in the Rostov region;
- Temryuk seaport in the Krasnodar region;
- military airfield near Maykop.
The strike with Storm Shadow cruise missiles on the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant resulted in significant consequences, as the total volume of reservoirs at this plant exceeds 210,000 cubic meters. Additionally, due to the strike on the Temryuk seaport, two fuel storage tanks caught fire, leading to a large-scale fire that engulfed approximately two thousand square meters.
A strike was also carried out on the military airfield near Maykop (Adygea). Previously, during attacks on the Belbek airfield in occupied Crimea, the destruction of the 96K6 radar station and the P-419 communications station was confirmed. These actions aim to reduce the military capabilities of the enemy and enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities.
Analysis of military actions
Strikes on strategic targets within Russia indicate an intensification of Ukraine's military actions in the context of the conflict. These attacks may aim not only to reduce the enemy's military potential but also to have a psychological impact, demonstrating Ukraine's ability to strike deep into the rear. Given the rising tension in the region, such actions may lead to further escalation of the conflict and changes in the strategy of both sides in the war.
