Ukrainian ski jumpers are ready for the new 2025/26 season

According to НОК: On November 21, the Olympic season of the 2025/26 World Cup in ski jumping kicks off in Lillehammer. The Ukrainian national team plans to participate in most stages of the World Cup and is also preparing for the Olympic Games.

The 2025/26 season is crucial for qualifying for the Games. The qualification period ends on January 18, after which 100 Olympic quotas will be assigned - 50 for men and 50 for women. Countries, including Ukraine, can receive 4 licenses for each gender. The program of the Games will include 3 disciplines: jumps on normal and large hills, as well as a mixed team event.

ℹThe number of quotas will depend on the results of athletes in previous competitions over the past 2 seasons.

Before the season, a key aspect has become the new equipment rules. The International Federation has introduced stringent requirements for suits that clearly regulate the permissible ratio of their size to the athlete's body parameters. Control will be conducted before and after the jump.

In September, the Ukrainian team participated in the summer stage of the Grand Prix in the Val di Fiemme valley, where the Olympic jump is located in Predazzo. The leader of the team, Yevhen Marusiak, noted the similarity of this jump to the Ukrainian one in Vorokhta. This may be a positive factor in preparation for the Games.

On Saturday, November 22, Ukrainian jumpers will participate in the first stage of the World Cup season 2025/26. Yevhen Marusiak, Vitaliy Kalinichenko, and Zhanna Glukhova will compete.
