Ukrainian Getmancar has launched the largest expansion: 1000 cars will be launched in Cyprus

The Ukrainian service Getmancar has launched car rental in five cities in Cyprus. The company has already acquired about 200 cars and plans to increase the local fleet to approximately 1000 units. AIN reports on this.

Getmancar in Cyprus covers five tourist cities

Car rental has been launched in Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia, and Ayia Napa. The main hub has become Larnaca, where a local office has been opened and most of the cars are placed. Cars will also be delivered to other cities on the island by pre-order.

Cyprus is expected to become the largest foreign market for Getmancar in terms of fleet size. This is a significant step in the international expansion of Ukrainian companies, which are increasingly building their own infrastructure abroad rather than relying solely on partners.

The company plans to add new cars each month. At the initial stage, the service is primarily targeting tourists and expats who need transportation for traveling around the island. The demand for rentals in Cyprus is supported by tourist flows and the peculiarities of local public transport.

Getmancar's fleet in Cyprus will increase to 1000 cars

The launch in Cyprus differs from the company's other foreign projects. In Germany, Romania, and Qatar, Getmancar operates as a traditional rental service through local partners responsible for the operational side.

In Moldova, the service is developing under a franchise, but the Ukrainian team is involved in almost all processes. There, customers can access both regular rentals and car sharing. In Cyprus, Getmancar will independently manage its own fleet and local team.

In terms of scale, this is the largest foreign launch of the service. For comparison, in Qatar, Getmancar had a fleet of 55 cars, while the Cypriot project plans for around 1000 cars. The company aims to achieve profitability in this direction within a year, by the next summer season.

Cyprus will also serve as a platform to test new approaches to rentals and product development. A large fleet will allow for quicker changes in rates, car delivery formats, and customer interaction methods without the need for partner approval.

Getmancar is already operating in Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Germany, Romania, Qatar, and Egypt. In Ukraine, the service is available in Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro, and cars can be rented by the minute, hour, or day.

The launch shows that Ukrainian services can compete for customers directly in European markets. Earlier, other companies also announced their expansion abroad, including Ukrainian food manufacturers in Spain and the KОMO brand, whose cheeses appeared in Britain.
