According to hvylya.net: According to the minister, the increase in fees is related to covering the operating costs of the shelter, such as gas, water, and electricity. This decision is part of the government's policy aimed at providing equal conditions for all categories of asylum seekers, as previously refugees from other countries paid more for similar services compared to Ukrainians.

Starting October 1, 2025, the Dutch government has decided to significantly increase the payment for state housing for Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status. According to the new rules, Ukrainian citizens will pay 244.22 euros per month, nearly double the previous amount of 105 euros. This information was confirmed by the Minister for Refugees and Migration, Mona Keijzer.

The minister stated that the increase in housing fees for Ukrainian refugees in the Netherlands is part of a reform aimed at creating more equal conditions for all asylum seekers in the country. The new rules will reduce the gap in housing payments between Ukrainians and refugees from other countries, ensuring a fairer approach for all residents of the shelter.
