Ukrzaliznytsia may raise ticket prices: who will avoid the increase
According to hvylya.net: The head of the board of 'Ukrzaliznytsia', Oleksandr Pertsevsky, stated that railway tickets should remain affordable for the population at least until the end of martial law. He spoke about this to journalists.
At the same time, Pertsevsky does not rule out the introduction of dynamic pricing for certain categories of tickets in the near future. In particular, he suggests liberalizing rates for tickets purchased at the last minute or not claimed. However, he emphasized that those who plan their trips in advance will continue to be able to count on low prices.
'My position is that tickets should remain affordable at least until the end of martial law, as pensions are not increasing',
- he explained.
Liberalization of rates for the development of passenger transportation
The company leader also condemned the preservation of state regulation of prices for tickets in sleeping cars of the SV category. In his view, the gradual lifting of restrictions on rates for expensive tickets could become an additional source of funding for the development of passenger transportation.
Nevertheless, Pertsevsky noted that 'Ukrzaliznytsia' has not yet submitted official proposals to the government regarding revising the cost of tickets. However, he did not rule out the possibility of introducing elements of dynamic pricing even before the end of hostilities.
'Perhaps tickets purchased on the last day will cost more. But this will not apply to military personnel',
- he emphasized.
Ukrzaliznytsia supports the availability of tickets for the population but does not exclude the possibility of changes in prices for certain categories of tickets in the future. The company also plans to liberalize rates for the development of passenger transportation. These steps may become an additional resource for funding improvements in services and infrastructure.
