Additional Services to the Carpathians and Transcarpathia

According to Главком: Ukrzaliznytsia has scheduled extra train services to the Carpathian and Transcarpathian regions in response to passenger demand analysis. The company records 340,000 ticket requests daily, yet only transports around 80,000 passengers. The additional services include trains No. 213/214 and No. 251/252, which will run from Kyiv to Rakhiv, as well as train No. 203/204 to Solotvyno.

Trains to Rakhiv will depart from Kyiv on June 17, 19, and 21, with return trips from Rakhiv on June 18, 20, and 22. For the Solotvyno route, departures from Kyiv are scheduled for June 19 and 21, with returns from Solotvyno on June 20 and 22. Tickets for these services are available on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and mobile app.

Updated Summer Timetable

Starting June 28, the company will implement an updated summer train schedule. Ticket sales for new and modified services have already begun. Ukrzaliznytsia notes that the ratio of demand to available seats will increase from 4 to 6-7 applicants per seat.

“Once again, we are guided by demand analytics and reallocating carriages to the most popular routes. We also thank our repair teams, who are rapidly adding carriages to the operational fleet so we can meet as much of your demand as possible” – Ukrzaliznytsia.

The introduction of extra services to the Carpathians and Transcarpathia highlights the growing popularity of these destinations among Ukrainian tourists, especially during the summer season. Amid high ticket demand, Ukrzaliznytsia is actively responding to passenger needs, which could positively impact tourism development in these regions. The launch of an updated schedule and the increase in carriage numbers on popular routes also demonstrate the company’s readiness to adapt to changes in passenger transportation.

As the demand for travel to the Carpathians surges, it's worth noting that Ukrzaliznytsia has recently reported record-high passenger numbers during the summer peak. This trend underscores the increasing popularity of these destinations, which could further enhance tourism opportunities in the region. With the introduction of additional train services, travelers can now enjoy more convenient access to the stunning landscapes of the Carpathians and Transcarpathia.
