Ukrzaliznytsia purchases 10 thousand tons of rails: which sections of the track will they go to

Contract with Voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH

Ukrzaliznytsia signed a contract with Voestalpine Rail Technology GmbH for the supply of 10 thousand tons of rails for the capital repair of 80 km of track. The agreement became possible due to savings from tenders, which allowed for the necessary financial resources to implement this project.

The rail purchase is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project, named 'Emergency Support for the Ukrainian Railway', will have a total contracted supply volume of about 46 thousand tons. This will allow for the construction and repair of 358 km of railway tracks throughout Ukraine, which is an important step in improving the infrastructure of railway transport.

Supplies and involvement of senior officials

The supply of an additional batch of rails will begin in May 2026. The contract signing ceremony was held with the participation of high-ranking officials, including:
