Starting from December 2025, Ukrainians will have more travel opportunities in Europe: Ukrzaliznytsia is opening new routes to Austria, Hungary, Germany, and Poland. The company is expanding its offerings for transit passengers, speeding up certain routes, and integrating Ukrainian flights with European night trains. Visit Ukraine reports this.

One of the key innovations will be the launch of the night train from Uzhhorod to Vienna with modern European sleeping cars. The route includes stops in Budapest, including Ferenc Liszt Airport, as well as a quick transfer in Chop to trains to Kyiv. Additionally, Ukrzaliznytsia is preparing a new route Budapest - Nyíregyháza - Berehove and will launch an additional Uzhhorod - Zahony train, which will provide convenient transfers to Hungarian and international trains.

New trains to Austria and Hungary: schedule and features

The main news for December 2025:

  • night train Uzhhorod - Vienna (23:19 → 8:53, return 19:08 → 6:15);
  • stops in Budapest and quick transfers in Chop;
  • new train Budapest - Nyíregyháza - Berehove;
  • additional train Uzhhorod - Zahony.

The routes are aimed at both tourists and those who frequently use flights through Hungary.

Travel to Germany and Poland: more flights and faster connections

Significant changes are expected for routes to Germany. The number of flights between Poland and Germany will increase by 54%, and convenient connections for trains to Berlin, Munich, and Leipzig will be available in Przemyśl and Chełm this. Ukrainian routes from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro will be integrated with European night flights.

To Poland, Ukrzaliznytsia is speeding up trains:

  • Kyiv - Warsaw: travel time is reduced by more than 2 hours, arrival and departure from the central station;
  • Kyiv - Chelm: arrival at 8:08 and convenient transfer to the 8:38 flight to Warsaw.

Earlier, we wrote that the European railway is expanding its network of international flights - starting from April 15, 2026, a new EuroNight night train will be launched, which will run between Switzerland and Sweden.
