Ukrzaliznytsia Updates Train Timetables

According to Главком: Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has revised its train schedules for February 23 due to security concerns in several regions. These adjustments are a common measure to ensure passenger safety amid ongoing conflict, leading to some rail connections being temporarily replaced by bus services.

Specifically, train No. 54/53 between Odesa and Dnipro will operate daily, maintaining a vital link between these cities. Furthermore, train No. 21/22 connecting Kharkiv and Lviv has been modified to better serve three regional centers, improving access to key population hubs.

Changes in Transportation Organization

Additional regional transportation changes have been implemented:

  • In the Kherson region, passenger transport between Mykolaiv and Kherson is being carried out by buses.
  • In the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, regional trains are temporarily running to and from Konotop.
  • In the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, passengers traveling from Lozova in the direction of Kramatorsk are also using bus services.
  • Transport between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia is now organized primarily with the involvement of bus carriers.

The schedule modifications are designed to ensure passenger safety and adapt the transport infrastructure to current conditions. Ukrzaliznytsia advises passengers to pay attention to the updated schedules and plan their journeys according to the new routes.

The adaptation of train schedules is a response to increased security threats in certain regions of Ukraine, a measure made necessary by the country's ongoing situation.

It is important to note that Ukrzaliznytsia is striving to maintain transport convenience and accessibility for passengers, even under restrictive conditions, by implementing alternative routes and means of transportation.
