Meeting with UNICEF Representative

According to Міністерство соц. політики: Ukraine's Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, Denys Ulutin, met with the head of the UNICEF Ukraine Office, Ann-Claire Dufay. Their discussions focused on collaborative efforts in social policy, preparing for the upcoming winter season, developing the social protection system, and supporting vulnerable families. Proposed improvements to aid mechanisms emphasized the critical need for faster payment delivery and the digitalization of support systems. This meeting underscores the ongoing international effort to bolster Ukraine's social infrastructure during a period of immense strain.

Denys Ulutin emphasized that 'it is now necessary to ensure more practical use of the Humanitarian Account for targeted assistance.'

The SPIRIT Program

A key component of this collaboration is the SPIRIT program, which has already reached over 20,000 people across 10 regions of Ukraine. This initiative promotes social sector reforms and strengthens community-based social services, serving as an effective tool for preventing crises through the development of family policy, early intervention, and community support. Programs like SPIRIT are vital for building long-term resilience beyond immediate humanitarian needs.

The dialogue between the Minister and the UNICEF representative highlights the importance of international cooperation in addressing social challenges. This is particularly crucial in preparing for winter, a time when vulnerable populations face heightened risks. The SPIRIT program, with its significant reach, exemplifies successful reform implementation that can strengthen social protection and support networks throughout Ukraine.

As Ukraine continues to enhance its social support mechanisms, the recent partnership with the UK aims to further strengthen community social services. This collaboration is essential for addressing urgent needs and ensuring effective reforms in social policies.
