The government has strengthened the protection of children affected by war: what has changed

According to Міністерство соц. політики: The government has adopted new amendments to the legislation aimed at protecting children who have suffered from the aggression of the Russian Federation since 2014. The statuses of such children are now clearly defined, compensation for harm to life and health is provided, and the mechanism for providing support has been improved. Importantly, a single information database on harm will now be created, simplifying procedures and helping to respond more quickly to children's needs.

The government has also decided to support the establishment of an interdisciplinary commission that will coordinate actions and expedite the decision-making process in matters of child protection. These changes concern all cases that occurred after the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories since February 19, 2014.
