Support for Emergency Repair Crews

According to Главком: The Ukrainian government has allocated 246.4 million hryvnias to support workers on emergency repair crews who worked to restore the country's energy infrastructure this past January. Each worker on the approved lists will receive an additional payment of 20,000 hryvnias. The funds will be transferred to the employees' current bank accounts to provide them with swift financial assistance. This move comes as Ukraine's energy grid continues to recover from targeted attacks.

'Today, the Government has allocated 246.4 million hryvnias to support the workers of emergency repair crews who restored Ukraine's energy sector in January of this year.' Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine

The program involves enterprises from the fuel and energy complex, the housing and utilities sector, and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways). This decision is aimed at recognizing the crucial role these workers play in restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Small Business Support Program

In a separate initiative, a state program supporting small businesses has already disbursed over 303 million hryvnias to more than 30,000 entrepreneurs. This program provides payments ranging from 7,500 to 15,000 hryvnias, which can be used for:

  • purchasing or servicing generators;
  • buying fuel for autonomous power sources;
  • paying for utility services.

Thus, the government continues to implement measures aimed at supporting both the energy sector and small businesses in Ukraine. These financial injections underscore the government's efforts to stabilize the country's energy system amidst ongoing challenges. Recognizing the work of emergency repair crews is a vital step in supporting key economic sectors that directly impact the nation's resilience. Simultaneously, the small business support programs demonstrate the government's comprehensive approach to addressing economic problems arising from crisis situations. The implementation of these initiatives may help restore public and entrepreneurial trust in the state.
