Ukraine Approves 250 Million Hryvnia in Bonuses for Emergency Repair Crews
Support for Emergency and Restoration Brigade Workers
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: In recognition of their critical work, the Ukrainian government has allocated funds from its state budget reserve for bonus payments to emergency repair crews. These payments cover their efforts during January-March 2026, a period marked by severe missile attacks on the country's infrastructure. A total of 246.4 million hryvnias will be disbursed to support the workers who restored vital services following Russia's mass missile strikes in January 2026.
Specifically, 94.5 million hryvnias are designated for the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, while 151.92 million hryvnias are allocated to the Ministry of Energy. More than 4,700 personnel, including heating system workers, water utility employees, and railway staff, will each receive a payment of 20,000 hryvnias. This initiative is part of an experimental project enacted under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 76, dated January 23, 2026.
This is a mechanism to support those who ensure community resilience during attacks. These are the people who restore light, heat, and water in minus 25-degree Celsius frost, doing what once seemed impossible. It is crucial that their work is backed not only by words of gratitude but by tangible decisions and state support.

Infrastructure Restoration as a National Priority
The allocation underscores the high priority Ukraine places on rebuilding its critical infrastructure amid ongoing warfare. These payments serve not only as financial aid for specialists working under extreme duress but also highlight the essential role they play in restoring community lifelines. Maintaining these teams is vital for national resilience.
Such measures are expected to boost the morale and motivation of the workforce, which can positively impact the speed of recovery efforts. The government continues to seek ways to support its citizens during the crisis, a crucial step for the country's overall stability.
