'LightHome' Program Launched to Bolster Energy Security

According to Кабмін: The Ukrainian government has initiated the 'LightHome' program to fund the purchase of autonomous power equipment for apartment buildings in communities facing an energy emergency. This state aid, ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias, will be provided to homeowners' associations, housing and service cooperatives, and building management companies. This initiative is a direct response to the widespread damage inflicted on Ukraine's power grid by targeted attacks.

Permitted Use of Program Funds

Program funds are designated for the procurement of:

  • Generators
  • Batteries
  • Inverters
  • Other energy equipment

Applications for the program can be submitted online via the 'Diia' platform. A commission under the Ministry of Community Development will review and approve applications. Crucially, recipients must utilize the granted funds within 45 days. The program will initially launch in Kyiv and the surrounding region, with the Ministry of Community Development to announce the exact start date for applications.

The 'LightHome' program addresses the pressing challenges to Ukraine's energy security.

This state support for energy equipment aims not only to ensure a more stable power supply but also to improve the living conditions for residents of multi-story buildings. It represents a significant step in rebuilding infrastructure and enhancing resilience against external threats to the energy system.
