New Cabinet of Ministers decisions regarding medicinal products

According to Главком: The Cabinet of Ministers has made decisions to reduce drug prices and ensure their accessibility, including changes to licensing conditions for the retail trade of medicinal products. This decision includes a number of innovations that may significantly impact the pharmaceutical market and the sale of medicinal products.

According to the new changes, pharmacies in state and municipal hospitals are required to sell only the medicinal products with the three lowest prices. This is aimed at providing patients with affordable medications and increasing competition among suppliers.

Changes in licensing conditions

In addition, the government has made changes to licensing conditions that allow the retail sale of over-the-counter medicinal products at gas stations (GS). For the sale of drugs at GS, enterprises must submit documents for obtaining a license to the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control. This innovation can significantly expand the availability of medicinal products for the population, especially in remote areas.

At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Roman Isayenko, which may indicate internal differences within the government regarding the implementation of new initiatives in the healthcare sector. Thus, the reduction of drug prices and the adaptation of the pharmacy network to new conditions have become relevant topics in society, as these changes will affect all levels of medical care.

The adopted changes indicate the government's desire to ensure the accessibility of medicinal products for the population, which is especially important given the current economic challenges.

Expanding the possibility of selling drugs at gas stations may improve access to medications in remote regions; however, the implementation of new initiatives will require proper control and coordination among various government structures. The situation with the disciplinary proceedings may also affect the further development of medical policy in Ukraine, as it indicates possible conflicts within the government regarding healthcare strategy.
