The UN stated that seven thousand civilian Ukrainians have died, but the number may be higher

From February 24 to December 26, 2022, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded 17,831 individuals who became victims of the war in Ukraine and the invasion of Russian occupiers.

Among them are 6,884 dead and 10,947 injured, according to a report from the UN Human Rights Office.

The deaths of 6,884 people have been documented, among the deceased are 2,719 men, 1,832 women, 175 girls, 216 boys, 38 children, and 1,904 individuals whose gender is unknown.

10,947 people have been recognized as wounded due to hostilities - 2,364 men, 1,709 women, 229 girls, 318 guys, 253 children, and 6,074 adults whose gender is unknown.

Moreover, the report notes that the actual figures of civilian casualties are likely significantly higher than reported. The UN is unable to obtain verified information from areas where active hostilities are taking place, or from areas controlled by Russian terrorists - this applies, among other things, to Mariupol, Bakhmut, Izyum, Lysychansk, Popasna, and Severodonetsk.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly recognized Russia as a terrorist state. They also called for the establishment of an international tribunal regarding the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

A draft resolution is being circulated in the UN that provides for the establishment of a special tribunal against the military-political leadership of Russia, with the Nuremberg Tribunal, which tried the leaders of Nazi Germany, being proposed as a model.
