Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Natalia Denikeeva emphasizes that the introduction of limits is an important step towards forming a civilized market where gambling does not lead to addiction. This is the first document in Ukraine regulating responsible gambling and aims to prevent gambling addiction. The draft order defines different types of restrictions, including financial and time limits.

After several years of deregulation and the growing popularity of online casinos, the government of Ukraine is implementing stricter control measures to protect citizens from addiction. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has presented a draft order that envisages the establishment of financial and time limits for players in gambling.

Players will have the opportunity to choose their own restrictions - for a day, week, or month. The time of the restrictions will be counted from the moment of the first bet and will be recorded with a precision of one second. Such practice has already successfully functioned in European Union countries, Canada, and the USA as part of the system for preventing gambling addiction.

Denikeeva noted that Ukraine takes into account international experience but at the same time develops its own model based on real data provided by the State online monitoring system after its launch. The introduction of limits changes the approach to the problem of addiction in Ukraine, shifting from responding to its consequences to conducting preventive policy.

Control over gambling in Ukraine is becoming increasingly strict and transparent. The introduction of financial and time limits for players is an important step towards protecting citizens from potential addiction. The new rules will contribute to the formation of a civilized market and change the approach to the problem of gambling addiction from responding to consequences to implementing preventive policy.
