The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has developed new rules for medical examinations for workers who operate in harmful or dangerous conditions. These rules mandate compulsory medical examinations for employees working with chemical substances, in conditions of increased noise, vibration, radiation, as well as for those who have night shifts.

Three types of medical examinations are proposed: preliminary upon employment, periodic with a frequency depending on working conditions, and extraordinary at the initiative of the employee, employer, doctor, or supervising authorities.

The Ministry emphasizes that the results of medical examinations will be used only for monitoring the health status of workers and cannot serve as grounds for discrimination.

The Ministry of Health hopes that the implementation of the new rules will help reduce losses associated with occupational diseases and accidents at work.

The Ministry of Health wants to introduce mandatory medical examinations for workers who operate in harmful conditions to ensure their health and safety in the workplace. The new rules stipulate mandatory medical examinations for certain categories of employees and types of medical examinations depending on working conditions. These measures are expected to help improve working conditions and prevent occupational diseases.
