Ukraine has changed the rules for bus departures abroad: what awaits carriers
The Ukrainian Ministry of Communities and Territories Development has updated the rules for bus departures abroad. Now carrier companies can reserve a fixed border crossing time on regular routes. The requirements for international carriers have also been updated, but additional restrictions have been introduced on the use of these permits. The updated order is aimed at creating a fair pre-reservation system for queue spots and avoiding the formation of passenger queues at the border. Transport companies that regularly service certain routes can obtain reserved time for crossing the border. This will allow trips to be planned in advance and make the schedule more predictable. If a carrier misses more than two trips in a month for its assigned route, it will lose the right to a guaranteed slot. Special conditions regarding the number of spots in the queue and the reservation of only one bus for each permit have been introduced for routes shorter than 400 km. New possibilities, such as guaranteed slots and extended reservation time, will be available after a technical update of the platform. Changes in the Ukrainian rules for bus departures abroad are aimed at improving the pre-reservation system for carrier companies and preventing the formation of passenger queues at the border. The introduction of new rules will allow trips to be planned in advance and improve the organization of international bus transport.
