The price of fuel at gas stations will rise immediately after warming: expert Lyoshkin
The price of gasoline and diesel at Ukrainian gas stations may increase by about 1 UAH per liter after stable warming, if world oil prices remain at their current level. This is reported by UNIAN.
Gas station prices after warming: why a rise is possible
Fuel expert, founder of the Prime group of companies Dmitry Lyoshkin explained that currently networks earn the main profit from the sale of arctic diesel, which withstands severe frosts. The difference between premium and regular diesel currently reaches up to 10 UAH per liter.
“As long as winter lasts, networks will not refuse arctic diesel, which is sold for 75 UAH per liter and purchased for 55. When expensive arctic diesel disappears, it will hit margins. Therefore, after the weather stabilizes, they may add a UAH to the price,” noted Lyoshkin.
At the same time, the increase in oil quotes is not currently putting critical pressure on retail prices. According to the expert, the difference between wholesale and retail prices remains comfortable. In particular:
-
in Izmail, diesel costs about 48.50 UAH per liter;
-
at major network gas stations, the price reaches 63.99 UAH;
-
the difference exceeds 15 UAH.
The situation is similar with gasoline A-95.
The cost of autogas in spring: what drivers should expect
Regarding autogas, the expert predicts fluctuations within 50 kopecks per liter. Gas depends on temperature, as with a decrease in density during warming, its production costs decrease. This partially offsets possible market fluctuations.
Lyoshkin also noted that there is enough autogas in Ukraine, and in spring networks may launch promotional offers more actively, competing for customers.
In January, the average price of A-95 gasoline rose by 2.39 UAH – to 60.65 UAH per liter, while diesel rose by 1.95 UAH to 60.26 UAH. Earlier, the director of the consulting group “A-95” Sergey Kuyun predicted a possible increase of another 2 UAH over the next few weeks. According to Lyoshkin, fuel reserves among traders were depleted earlier due to the active use of generators.
