According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan summoned the temporary chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Pyotr Volokov, for a conversation due to attacks on Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

'A sharp protest was expressed to the Russian side regarding the raids on June 27, 2025, by Russian security forces in the apartments of our compatriots, during which two Azerbaijanis were brutally killed, several people were seriously injured, and nine people were arrested,' Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry representatives reported.

In light of the silence of Russian officials regarding the incident in Yekaterinburg, Milli Mejlis deputy Vugar Iskenderov expressed indignation. He noted that in Azerbaijan, the attitude towards Russians in such situations is more grounded and empathetic.

'Five of our compatriots died, but the Russian embassy remains untouched. This is unacceptable for the country,' the journalist noted.

Oleg Tsarev, who is currently in Russia, claims that Azerbaijan is looking for a reason for conflict with Russia. He also expressed the opinion that the countries of the former Soviet bloc have become enemies of Russia.

'Every country that takes the path of confrontation with Russia has responsible state officials who ensured this situation. Fighting with other countries is a failure of Russia's foreign policy,' Tsarev believes.

As a result of the attacks on Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan summoned the temporary chargé d'affaires of the Russian embassy to express protest, emphasizing the unacceptability of such events. The Azerbaijani parliament deputy stressed that the response of the Russian authorities to the incident was insufficient and expressed concern for the safety of his compatriots abroad.
