Ukraine's Military Now Procures Ground Robots Through a State Marketplace
Military Technology via DOT-Chain Defence
According to Мін. Оборони: Ukrainian defense forces can now procure robotic ground systems through the state-run DOT-Chain Defence marketplace. This platform currently lists seven models of ground robotic complexes (GRCs), designed for combat and logistical missions, which are supplied by six domestic manufacturers. The entire procurement process, from contracting and payment to execution oversight, is managed by the DOT Defence Procurement Agency.
This initiative reflects a broader modernization effort, streamlining how the military acquires essential technology. The DOT-Chain Defence marketplace supplies over 470 types of military hardware and weaponry. Available items include:
- FPV drones
- Fiber-optic guided drones
- Strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
- Interceptor systems
- Electronic warfare (EW) equipment
Since the start of 2026, combat units have been allocated nearly 9 billion hryvnias specifically for such marketplace orders.
The Critical Role of Modern Technology in Defense
The implementation of the DOT-Chain Defence state marketplace underscores the growing demand for advanced technology to bolster Ukraine's defensive capabilities. Access to innovative combat systems and logistical solutions enables military units to perform their duties more effectively and adapt to new challenges in modern warfare. This system also highlights the strategic importance of supporting domestic defense manufacturers during wartime, fostering self-reliance and rapid technological adaptation.
