Ukraine does not yet have sufficient support regarding the exclusion of Russia from the UN Security Council.

This was reported by the Deputy Chancellor of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Märt Volmer. In a comment to ERR.EE, he stated that most countries do not share our country's approach to Russia's membership in the Security Council.

'Unfortunately, there is no significant international support for Ukraine on this issue,' said the Deputy Chancellor.

Volmer explained that the consideration of the issue of excluding the Russian Federation from the UN Security Council would be possible if a large number of states thought like Ukraine.

In this regard, the diplomat estimates that this issue is currently unpromising, and attention should be focused on those aspects of international life where Russia can indeed be pressured and isolated.

'Russia should be hindered where it is actually feasible, where there is certain support, where we can push it away from decision-making processes in the world,' said Volmer.

Ukraine has called on UN member states to deprive the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, of its status as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Also, to exclude Russia from the UN. The statement was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was noted that the Russian Federation has never gone through a legitimate procedure for obtaining membership and occupies the place of the Soviet Union in the UN Security Council unlawfully.
