Kolos Secures Dynamo Kyiv Goalkeeper on Deal Running Through 2029
Valentyn Morhun Makes Move to Kolos
According to Главком: Goalkeeper Valentyn Morhun has left Dynamo Kyiv to join Kolos. The agreement between the player and his new club runs until the summer of 2029. The 24-year-old has made three club-level appearances this season, none of which were clean sheets, and he conceded six goals. Transfermarkt values Morhun at €500,000.
Notably, his contract with Dynamo Kyiv was set to expire this summer. Kolos also anticipates the departure of their starting goalkeeper, Ivan Pakholyuk. Morhun came through the academies of Kharkiv's Metalist and Dynamo Kyiv. In the 2016/17 season, while with Dynamo, he was named the best goalkeeper in Ukraine's U-16 championship. He made his first-team debut for Dynamo in April 2025 during a Ukrainian Cup quarterfinal against Rukh, a match his team won 1-0. He later played in the Ukrainian Cup semifinal against Bukovyna, where Dynamo secured a 4-1 victory.
First Appearances and Club Changes
Morhun first took the field in the Ukrainian Premier League during the 30th round of the 2024/25 season, facing Kolos in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Beyond Morhun's transfer, First League club Viktoriya Sumy announced the end of their collaboration with head coach Anatoliy Bessmertny, who will continue his career within Dynamo Kyiv's structure. In another notable achievement, Dynamo U19 goalkeeper Vyacheslav Surkis set a record for the most appearances in the Ukrainian junior championship. Surkis reached this milestone during the 26th round of the junior league match against Shakhtar U19, which his team won 4-1. He now has over 100 matches to his name.
Valentyn Morhun's move to Kolos highlights the active roster changes underway in the Ukrainian Premier League, reflecting clubs' efforts to refresh their squads and improve results. Kolos is likely banking on fresh energy and new opportunities to boost their competitiveness in the league, especially given the potential exit of their primary goalkeeper. This transfer also underscores the trend of developing young talent in Ukrainian football, which could raise the overall level of play in the country.
The ongoing roster changes in the Ukrainian Premier League are not limited to Valentyn Morhun's transfer. For instance, Dynamo Kyiv's Mykhavko has recently been recognized as one of the top defenders globally, showcasing the club's commitment to developing talent and enhancing their competitive edge. Such developments indicate a dynamic shift within the league as teams strive for improvement.
